St. Michael’s is a Grade II* listed building, located south-east of Ipswich. The church appears largely Victorian in the Decorated style but is in fact of medieval origin - the south porch and south doorway the only clearly visible medieval elements. The external walls are mainly unrendered and built of knapped flint (in parts of very fine work) with rubble, field stones, and septaria visible. The south porch is of a soft red brick. There are clunch and other limestone ashlar dressings, and internally the walls are plastered with lime plaster and lime-washed. Whilst the tower is leaded, all other roofs are covered in recently renewed plain clay tiles.
Conservation works included the west window of the tower, redecoration of ferramenta and checking of rainwater goods and below-ground drainage.
