Originally built as a barn, Dalgety had used the building for several years as their main office (bottom picture). Conditions were fairly insanitary with birds living above a dingy suspended ceiling, under a roof containing large amounts of asbestos. Freeland Rees Roberts were commissioned to revamp the building and create more office space. The asbestos was removed and the building entirely reclad and insulated giving the opportunity for a vaulted ceiling and a feeling of light and space (top picture). A side extension was also added with views over open fields to the south.
