Phase II involved the complete modernisation and refurbishment of the farmhouse and the construction of a new orangery and yoga hall.
The hall had to be large enough to allow for the teaching of twenty students with their yoga mats. Green oak trusses, designed by McCurdy & Co, support a sloping skylight against the higher back wall and a green roof system over the remainder. Large sliding glass doors in oak frames allow direct connection with the landscaped garden and a large pond in which the external posts of the new oak structure are reflected.
From the beginning the approach has been thoroughly sustainable - ecologically friendly materials are used throughout, the underfloor heating in the yoga hall is provided by solar panels and the hot water is solar heated.
