Old Schools, University of Cambridge, Cambridge

Client – University of Cambridge

In 1995 Freeland Rees Roberts produced a report on how the University could make best use of the historic Old Schools complex as its headquarters.

In 1997, the Registrary and the Registrar’s office were modernised and the roof above the attic was raised to create extra offices for the Financial Board.  In 1998 further modernisation and refurbishment was carried out on the Vice Chancellor’s office, the Syndicate Room and the staircase leading to these rooms, which became known as the Benefactors’ Stair.  Subsequently the Vice Chancellor’s waiting area was modernised and a new reception area for the building was created.
