Henry Freeland
B.A., B. Arch., RIBA AABC

Henry studied architecture at Bristol University qualifying in 1973. During this time he also pursued his interest in archaeology. His interest in conservation led him to join Cecil Bourne Architects and later Whitworth & Hall. He set up Freeland Rees Roberts with Tristan Rees Roberts in 1981.

He is an ecclesiastical architect currently caring for over eighty churches, employed by the Churches Conservation Trust and architect to the fabric of King’s College Chapel, Norwich Cathedral and Guildford Cathedral. He is consultant architect to the National Trust at Ickworth and Hatfield Forest and is also working for large country houses e.g. Burghley and Layer Marney Tower and for several Cambridge colleges. He is a member of the Ely Diocesan Advisory Committee.
