Glazed Infill

Cambridge

Client – Private Client
Date of Completion – 2016

A modest but transformative infill project to a Victorian terrace within the heart of Cambridge’s New Town and Glisson Road Conservation Area. The overshadowed side passage to the garden was a neglected space typical of Victorian properties. The passage was infilled with a new structural glass box creating a new sitting area. The visually simple interior belies the intricate threading of existing waste pipes necessary to eliminate unsightly pipework within the new space. By removing the corner of the Victorian brick masonry, the new infill space flows into an enlarged living-dining-kitchen area transforming the ground floor accommodation.
