Kate Ylioja

BSc(Hons) DipArch MSc

Kate studied Architecture at the University of Bath, earning her Part 1 experience at Freeland Rees Roberts Architects and gained her DipArch at Oxford Brookes in 2009, specialising in sustainable design. She studied further to complete a MSc in Sustainable Building: Performance & Design. She wrote her dissertation on Fire in Thatch and how modern methods try to prevent damage to building, thereby revitalising a zero-carbon material.

Kate spent a year working for Buschow Henley Architects in London before spending a year in Australia. After working in Norfolk, Kate returned to Freeland Rees Roberts in January 2016. She works mostly on private residential projects and has a special interest in sustainable, low-carbon building and living.
