Client – Private Client
Date of Completion – 2011

In 2008 Freeland Rees Roberts was approached by a private client to convert a Victorian building which had been used as an office for over 50 years into a luxurious family home.

The building was marked as being of local historic interest and situated in a conservation area and included a group tree preservation order on all the trees on the property.

Freeland Rees Roberts obtained planning permission to remove 20th century additions from the back of the house and build a grand, open-plan kitchen and garden room. Internal alterations included the insertion of new bathrooms, enlarging a sitting room and the creation of a master suite with a dressing room and en-suite. Existing sash windows were refurbished and double glazed. All external walls, floors and roof were thermally upgraded and the services design includes underfloor heating, air heat exchangers and solar panels.
