Client - Trinity Hall

Following the completion of the Jerwood Library in 1998, Freeland Rees Roberts was involved in various alterations to the Old Library building to form new reception rooms. These alterations highlighted inherent problems associated with access, in particular access for the disabled.

The solution has been found in the formation of a new connecting building that has been slipped into a previously rather unattractive space between a car park entrance and the Old Library building. This small building incorporates a lift and stairs, together with an entrance hall that also provides WC and cloakroom. The lift and stairs provide access to the college’s first floor public rooms.

The terrace, was renovated to provide an external sitting area for students.
